These are great! I’ve been on a font downloading spree lately so I’ll have to add a few of these to the list.
Love, love, love those.
Okay, question, because I’m starting to hoard fonts and don’t know what to do. Is there a way to separate them (after installing them) so that you can quickly find the fonts you’ve installed? Does that make sense? When I add text (say, in Photoshop), I click on “font” and allllllllll of my fonts are shown in alphabetical order. I can’t remember which ones I’ve installed (unless I remember the name and the particular reason why I liked the fond) and which ones are standard. Hopefully that explained my question a little more.
Yes, I know what you mean, I have that problem too! But I don’t think there’s a way to reorganize fonts (at least in Mac OS X, which I am most familiar with). I would LOVE a way to make folders and separate retro fonts from script fonts, etc, but I don’t think it’s possible right now :-/
kir, i, too, am a fontaholic! i wonder if there is a 12 step program for us!
thanks for the freebies…auntie jo
I’ve never downloaded a free font. I am so not savy like that. I like a few of these alot though. They’re pretty.
It’s nothin’ fancy, just download and drop in your fonts folder! Voila, new fonts!
Thank you for compiling these – I love Learning Curve and Pacifico!
Learning Curve is so cute, isn’t it? Reminds me of learning cursive in second grade!

Hi Kira, I’m updating my website and LOVING all these wonderful tips. One question, how do you insert new fonts on wordpress? Do you do it on photoshop and insert as an image?
Hi Paula! If you’re on Wordpress.com, you’ll need the custom design upgrade in order to change fonts. On Wordpress.org, there are several plugins you could use. These fonts aren’t really for web text use, mostly for creating images to spice up your blog!
Thanks for the speedy reply! I’m on Wordpress.org and yes, I plan do use them to spice up the new blog that it will be linked to the site. My plan for tomorrow is to search for those plugins.
Hi Kira! My site is up and running (although it still needs a bit of work) and I just wanted to drop a line to thank you for all the super helpful tips. I implemented a bunch of them.

Hi Kira – thank you so much for such a great site! I recently launched my blog and found Her New Leaf to be such an amazing resource that I haven’t closed your site’s tab on my browser for a while now! And thank you for the freebie fonts: I just downloaded the Jenna Sue one, which was just the font I’ve been searching high and low for.

I finally discovered a simple way of embedding the font on my blog (after having the issue of it being cut off using the kevinandamanda tutorial). I’m emailing you the steps so you could share them with your reader!
